CWA advocates “School Is Society” , which means that we will extend the learning experience from books to real social scenes, help students think about and understand themselves in scientific and mature ways while learning and growing, and encourage students to “focus on personality”, “concentrate on actions” and “be diligent in reflection”, so as to train as lifelong learners with international vision and social responsibility.
The System of Living in CommunityBased on the System of Living in Community (LINC), students’ study and life will be taken in charge by “Growth Advisors” from different disciplines in the boarding school. The growth advisors and students may establish a variety of interactions and connections, they can be subjects teachers, counselors for further education or psychological counselors, etc. Growth advisors will live with students on the same floor of the boarding units, accompany and support students’ growth, and build school’s culture with students.
CWA’s boarding school is the center for students’ life and learning activities. In order to support students’ all-round development, we provide courses for youth growth focusing on improving students’ soft power, such as enhancing positive self-awareness and self-efficacy, management ability on goals and time, communication and social interaction, rational decision-making, and happiness perception. Regular Boarding Wonderful Nights (an after-class activity) in school can be parties or theme activities, sometimes a competition, which not only allows students to relax with their peers after study, but is also a wonderful process for peers to interact, connect and develop a sense of belonging, and learn from each other.
A boarding school is a “home away from home” for students. Growth advisors and students form a family. Here, students can get positive attention from growth advisors to their overall adaptation, physical and mental health, peer relations, academic situation and further studies, hobbies. At least two structured interviews (a targeted psychological communication for different students) per semester and bit by bit exchanges in daily basis take place, so that growth advisors can also better understand, support and guide students to develop. Meanwhile, the students can get help from each other in here, as well as share their joys and sorrows together in “family”. Seniors are willing to give advice and help using their own experiences, and all of us will work together to build our "home away from home" and own our LINC community.
